About Cris Seda Chabrier
Cris Seda Chabrier is an investigative reporter and photojournalist based in New York City and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
They’ve been published in the Tucson Sentinel, Mada Masr, New York City News Service, Metro, Todas, Pulso Estudiantil and Claridad, among others news outlets.
They're currently finishing a master's in Bilingual Journalism from CUNY Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism.
They also graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras with degrees in Political Science and Audiovisual Communication, and a minor from the Women's and Gender Studies program.
As a researcher, they’ve been the recipient of academic fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania and Williams College in Massachusetts.
Their undergraduate thesis was published in ¡Vivas Nos Queremos! CENTRO Summer 2023 Journal on Femicide by The Center for Puerto Rican Studies in Hunter College (CUNY).
They approach all reportage with a feminist and intersectional gender perspective.
